I originally started the Search Engine Marketing Guide as a CV when I was desperately trying to find a job closer to home. With a young son I didn’t love the idea of leaving as he woke up each morning and arriving home at 7pm each night.

So I decided to job hunt and SEM Guide was my online knowledge showcase. I ended up turning down a few job offers from companies even further from home and happily taking a position at a young, energetic company that was located a mere 5 minutes away from where I lived (by train). After a year and a half with them I left to join my husband in his recently started venture and that’s where I’ve been since.

We now have an office in the UK which we have left in the capable hands of the Branch Manager and are personally working from home in the beautiful, Northern Suburbs of Perth, Australia where it seems as if it’s almost always sunny - even in what they call winter over here.

American by birth, I grew up in California and Hawaii but oddly enough felt more at home in England and now think that Perth is the perfect combination of the much hyped American dream, English sensibility and good old fashioned Protestant values. So I think I’ve found what I can safely call home.

The Search Engine Marketing Guide Blog is not intended to give away any trade secrets or inside knowlege. It’s aimed at businesses looking to improve their online marketing and search engine placements. It’s hoped that the hints, tips and information contained in this blog will encourage best practices in search engine marketing and help companies benefit from what is or can be a level playing field (if you know what you’re doing). Where even those with very minimal marketing budgets can rub shoulders and often best the big guys.

You don’t need money to burn, you just need a good old fashion willingness to work hard, embrace a few new ideas, be practical, use common sense and have a bit of patience. A splash of luck wouldn’t go amiss either.

Just as a side note, neither Just Click International nor our Australian company does client work. So other than the help contained in this site and blog I’m afraid you’re on your own. Just kidding - not about us, we really don’t take on any client work - but there are hundreds of resources online to help you learn and even master the art and/or science of search engine marketing. Have fun and good luck!
